National Gallery of Palazzo Spinola

A 16th-century building, where the atmosphere of a 17th-18th-century palace is still intact, is the picturesque setting for the National Gallery of Liguria: the picture gallery includes works by major Genoese, Flemish and European artists, as well as an important collection of ceramics. Among the paintings on display are works by Rubens, Van Dyck, Grechetto, Valerio Castello, and many others.

Royal Palace Museum

The sumptuous 17th-century building, patrician home to noble families (Balbi, Durazzo, Savoy), preserves the furniture, artworks, and everyday objects dating back to the 17th-19th century. Its halls are home to a rich collection of paintings, including works by many Italian and foreign artists (Van Dyck, Tintoretto, Strozzi) and the Genoese school (Piola, Grechetto, Schiaffino), as well as sculptures by Filippo Parodi. The collection of Genoese furniture of the 17th-18th century is also worth a mention.
