The museum of the Accademia Ligustica

The museum of the Accademia Ligustica (Ligurian Academy) houses a rich collection of Ligurian paintings between the 14th and the 19th century (Antonio Semino, Perin del Vaga, Giovanni e Luca Cambiaso, Bernardo Castello, Strozzi, Ansaldo, Fiasella, Piola, Grechetto, Tavella, Cominetti, Rambaldi, and many others) and European majolica from the 17th to the 19th century. The complex also includes the archive, the collection of plaster casts, the collections of drawings and prints, and the library.

Diocesano Museum
In the Cloister of the Canons of San Lorenzo, built in the 12th century and recently restored, the museum houses numerous works by artists who significantly represent Genoese sacred art. Among the works exhibited is the monumental tomb of the Fieschi, the large altarpieces by Gregorio De Ferrari, paintings by Luca Cambiaso, Perin del Vaga; Ligurian paintings from the 14th and 15th century, archaeological finds, stone materials, reliquaries, silverware and embroideries.

Villa del Principe - Palazzo di Andrea Doria
The halls of the prestigious Villa del Principe, built by Andrea Doria in the 16th century, house frescoes, paintings and sculptures of important Ligurian, Italian and foreign artists, as well as a remarkable series of tapestries. Perin del Vaga, Piola, Tavarone, Cambiaso, Tiziano, and Castello are some of the artists whose works are on display. In the Italian garden stands the monumental marble Neptune Fountain by the brothers Carlone.

Museo Emanuele Luzzati
Since 2001, the museum is housed in the Old Port of Genoa in the striking setting of the Porta Siberia, exhibiting various works and set designs by Emanuele Luzzati (mezzari, tapestries and drawings). The museum complex is designed especially for children and teenagers: in addition to the educational and entertainment rooms, it offers a multimedia area and a library. The hotel regularly hosts exhibitions of layouts, costumes, sketches, models and maquettes.

Museo Nazionale dell’Antartide Felice Ippolito
The museum, located in the Old Port of Genoa, was created to raise awareness of the Antarctic continent and the research activities conducted during the Italian expeditions in Antarctica. The museum includes videos, reconstructed environments, samples and Antarctic artefacts (glaciological, geological, mineralogical and palaeontological collections). In addition to the library, catalogues of the collections and the database of the environmental samples are available.

Jazz Museum - Italian Jazz Institute
The Museum of the Study and Research Centre on Jazz Music opened in 2000 and designed by the Louisana Jazz Club (active in Genoa since 1964), holds a collection of nearly 10,000 pieces, including CDs, vinyl records, tapes, cassettes, and videotapes. Entire collections of recordings by Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday and many others are preserved here.

Archive Press Museum
Opened in 2003 at the Centro Servizi Didattici of the Provincia di Genova, the Archive Press Museum – Gutenberg Collection Francesco Pirella is now definitively housed in the Magazzini dell’Abbondanza of the Municipality of Genoa. It is an experimental workshop of all forms of typography, natural, techno-artificial and historical: ancient presses tell the story of Gutenberg. On display are several hand and pedal machines, mobile characters from different eras and styles, documents, imprints: from the imprint of the microorganism dating back to eighty million years ago, to an in vitro shroud.

Museum of Cultural Heritage Cappuccini
Annexed to the church of SS. Annunziata di Portoria, where the Mausoleum of Santa Caterina Fieschi Adorno can be admired, the Museum of Cultural Heritage Cappuccini houses the rich artistic heritage coming from Ligurian convents.
The museum exhibits the works of the most famous Genoese painters of the 16th and 17th century, such as Bernardo Strozzi, Domenico Piola, Orazio De Ferrari and Luca Cambiaso, as well as precious vestments, handicrafts and pieces of the poor art of the Capuchin, such as frontals, wooden sculptures, cribs and silverware of undisputed artistic value.

Museum of the history of the Genoa Cricket and Football Club 
Multimedia museum dedicated to the history of the Genoa Cricket and Football Club. It is run by the Fondazione Genoa 1893.
The museum officially opened on 5 June 2009 in the premises once occupied by the historical Genoese newspaper, “Il Lavoro”, edited by Sandro Pertini in Salita Dinegro 7. On 21 June 2013, the new headquarters was opened in the Old Port in the 16th-century building of San Giobatta, with over 950 square yards on three floors, three rooms plus a shop, the ticket office and a covered garden.
