Civic Museums: Reduced Admission on Ferragosto

On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August, Genoa’s Civic Museums will be open with reduced admission fees, offering residents and tourists an additional opportunity to discover the city’s cultural heritage.

The reduced admission will be available, according to the respective opening hours, at the following museums:

  • Musei di Strada Nuova – reduced admission €9
  • Museo di Sant’Agostino – reduced admission €6
  • Lanterna Monumental Complex – reduced admission €5
  • Edoardo Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art – reduced admission €6*
  • Castello D’Albertis – Museum of World Cultures – reduced admission €6
  • Raccolte Frugone, Gallery of Modern Art (GAM) and Wolfsoniana, Museo Luxoro – combined reduced admission €9
  • MEI – National Museum of Italian Emigration – reduced admission €5
  • Galata Museo del Mare – reduced admission €14 for residents of the Municipality of Genoa

* In the event of a red alert due to extreme heat, the Edoardo Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art will remain closed.

Please also note that admission is free for visitors under 18, as well as on Sundays for residents of the Metropolitan City of Genoa.

Furthermore, throughout the month of August, visitors aged 65 and over can enter the museums of the Municipality of Genoa free of charge.
